In conjunction with UNESCO celebration of World Water Day(WWD) which celebrated every year on the 22nd March, SAJ with collaboration of Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Air Negara (SPAN), BAKAJ and MBJB celebrates the event at Taman Merdeka, Johor Bahru recently.
This year World Water Day theme is Water and Food Security, is intended to draw the attention on the relationships between water and food security. Food security exists when all people at all times have physical, social and economic access to sufficient and nutritious food to meet their dietary needs and food preferences for an active and healthy lifestyle and water is one of the fundamental input factor to the food production.
The glorious event was officiating by MP Gelang Patah, Tan Ah Heng with presence of CEO of SAJ, Abdul Wahab Abdul Hamid. With participants of 244 students from 5 secondary schools in public speaking and quiz session, it has impact on the awareness for the students on the importance of water and food security for daily needs. Highlight of the event, Explorace witnessed participation of 8 groups from public, media and students.

Also, a special informative exhibition from various organizations, such as Petrosains, Perpustakaan Awam, BAKAJ, SPAN, Department of Environment and Department of Drainage and Irrigation, which is useful for visitor’s knowledge and hands on experience on water.
Apart from activities lined up, SAJ also open its water treatment plants, which are Bandar Tenggara and Mersing for public visit to experience on water treatment process live.
